Ballet takes much inspiration from fairy tales. I hope aerial dance will start to do likewise. Someday I would like to choreograph a version of “The Firebird” for aerials, with a costume at least as splendid as Lesley Barnes’ illustration. Not this coming year, though: we have a different, but also very classic, project up our sleeves for 2018.
