I’m using the waistcoat I made for playing Charles Babbage at the 2016 science fest as a guide. But I’m usually too impatient to cut out pattern pieces, so most of the time I just measure, mark, and pin, as you see in the second photo.

I sewed a lot in 2016. Most of the results looked cool, but structurally a lot of them are showing stress from aerial performance and need extensive repair or even total rethinking. I was so unhappy with my adaptation of Yuna’s skirt during MomoCon 2016 that I took it completely apart (aided by the fact that I hadn’t painted on the design yet) and put it back together. A post on the new construction for those interested in the details later, pictures now:
